peas!

Its true I’m a really bad blogger! Its just been pretty crazy busy at work lately and I really had to go out snowboarding yesterday!

In other news its still really cold here! Me and my son Joshijah sat down last weekend and watched a surf video and I just about bought a one way ticket back to Australia. It was a pretty cool video…..Made by Jack Johnson called Thicker than water. You know I’m really blessed to have snowboarding, but it just isn’t surfing……..that pause was for a little tear!

I think we are gonna try to go look at some new cars this weekend………..we’re looking at getting a Volvo wagon.

So about a year ago i switched from drinking coffee to tea. It made me feel 100% better, not so sluggish. I love tea and all, and have a few dozen kinds to choose from on any given day. But I keep having dreams about coffee! Really, once a week I’ll have a dream I’m drinking a cup of my wife’s amazing coffee.

You see it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but a few months back i had a cup and a few hour later i felt like i was passing a kidney stone.

Its the hardest this time of year, its all cold and i just want to go home and sit down on the couch with a warm cup of coffee and tell my wife all my troubles. You know i do it with tea, but its just not as satisfying.

korean artist jeongmee yoon’s ‘pink and blue project’ was inspired by her daughter. she would only wear pink and buy pink toys. she found this to be a common theme in korea, the us and around the world. when photographing girl’s in their world of pink, she realized that boys shared the same phenomenon except in a different hue: blue. the objects are arranged in the child’s room and photographed in a square format. jeongmee yoon was born in seoul and lives in new york.

I’m in the process of looking for a new set of wheels for the fam and came across this…….I really want one.

ikea1.jpgSo Ikea and I go way back, we have this love hate relationship going on. You know most of their stuff looks pretty cool but after a year of wear, its usally usless. We got this nice couch a few years back when we moved from australia, we got it in our house and man did it look awesome! Now it looks more like we rolled it down a mountain.

Last night I was putting together some new storage unit we got for the basement to put the kids toys in. Now its hard for me to type and right click because of the the dang blisters from that tiny allen key!

So we got three of these units, they are pretty well designed and fit heaps of toys! Fingers aside this is not too bad of an Ikea product……but i’ll let you know next year.

As stated erlier the conditions were awesome yesturday! Its alway so awesome going riding with my boy tom. He’s from the south too so we’re on the same page!

after we went riding we went and did some christmas shopping and it was nutts. way too many people in that size of a space.

Here are some pics that i totally just stole from my wife’s blog. This weeks snow storm!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately………..In the news: loads of snow has been hitting us the past days, we actually had to dig out the front of the door to open it…..more then knee deep in the backyard!

In other news the roads are clear so I will be going snowboarding tomorrow and the conditions are A+++.

We got our Christmas tree up the other night and it really takes me back to my childhood. Dad putting the lights on the tree, my sisters and me arguing about who gets to put the angel on the top that year.

Since I’m from Texas, I found the biggest tree that would fit in our house and ended up having to trim a bit off the top. Of course the bottom two feet of tree is bare of decorations now that Joshijah and Hosanna took them and threw them down the stairs to the basement.

Joshijah keeps talking about our tree for Jesus and its really made me look at our tree a bit differant. Who says that putting a bunch of decorations on a great looking tree and lighting it up doesn’t please The Lord. I was thinking about it and I felt like God was really pleased with Joshijah’s heart, decorating a tree for His Son Jesus.

Here is a good, fun, and practical way to get your kids on the bus to school.

WOW….that was one crazy week. Sorry to my 2 or 3 loyal readers out there who didn’t get any updates last week.

What a puzzle life is, fitting everything together just right and not letting the less important things become most important. I remember something my dad told me once, ” whats urgant isn’t always important”.

Since I started my business a few months back i find myself thinking about that, maybe I wont get that lead on a new client, but I did promis my son we would play soccer after work….and you know i went and played soccer and there is still food on our table and a roof over our heads.

Maybe at this point we don’t own a house or have alot of the luxuries others have, but really i have everything! and i have yet to find myself in a place of real need…..always want….but never need.

I hope i never come to that place, where I’m neglecting the important because of a want, because all i stand in need of is always with out fail provided. I remember this song and its always been such a truth to me and something i stand on…..the words go “there was provision before my need’.  Its not just that its a song and i think it should be truth, but it echos scripture! And that is something that I’ll stand on til the day I die.

Not that this will happen every monday….but it just might.

We don’t have mini van and i pray we never get one…..but this is really funny.

BigPond reminds us how important it is to do our research when planning a vacation.

With a little research I discovered that this is an actual beach that many people vacation at. Apparently hotels near the airport are an ideal vacation spot for aviation enthusiasts. Se video below:

Great video involving teaching your son to ride a bike.

Its offical…..my little girls Hosanna is now walking!!

she had been taking steps here and there for a while now!

I just got off the phone with my wife melanie and we think we should take ourselves out tonight for dinner…..we did teach her really well, we deserve it!

Let your daughter know she’s beautiful. Great Dove follow up ad.

joy1.jpg
I’m blessed enough to be living a two minute walk from my office and can come and go as I please. But somehow I still find myself complaining about my job.I believe as fathers in our home we have the ability to change the whole mood and presents of our home.
Not to leave the mammas out cause they bring the same responsibility.  I feel so challenged lately to step it up a notch at home even when we are without, being from the west I don’t think anyone reading this myself included has ever really experienced being without. Times get tight, but our needs are always met.
I gonna go ahead and let my joy over flow…it sounds corny I know, but its what I need to do. My little girl Hosanna knows what joy is and she’s not even two. I just pray God would give me that child like joy, but I’m not gonna sit around and wait for God to zap me with it. I’m gonna step out knowing the grace will be there for me to walk it out.

Hows that for a first real post.
